Parties/Events
At KitchenK we have a wide variety of experience in hosting events of all types and sizes. This outline is designed to assist you in sketching out your party plans and to give you an idea of what is available at what price. We realize that no two events are exactly alike, and that your party is uniquely important to you. In that spirit we will try very hard to customize a gathering to your exact liking and specifications.
Lunch/Dinner Options
We can accommodate groups from 2 people to 200 people for lunch or dinner at KitchenK. Being close to the St. Louis Convention Center and the Renaissance Grand Convention Hotel we are accustomed to handling larger groups and corporate-style events. Our central location makes us popular for wedding rehearsal dinners, bridal/baby showers, and other large celebratory gatherings.
We offer a variety of options to best take care of your specific needs. It is our desire to make your role in the planning as simple as possible. Menus are available on this site.
- Some clients prefer to offer their guests a smaller menu with a few pre-chosen items. This simplifies the ordering process and allows a measure of predictability for the final settlement. We will gladly provide a more limited menu tailored to your guests with or without prices listed.
- Other guests like to offer a prix fixe menu, proscribing various courses, usually with a choice of a few different entrees. A typical prix fixe menu would offer an appetizer, a soup or salad, entrée, and dessert for a fixed price.
- Finally, if you would prefer to have your guests simply order off of that evening’s menu that is fine too.
The prices for these options vary according to the menu, lunch versus dinner, number of courses and number of options. As a rough guide, lunch begins around $10.00 per person for basic lunch items. Full dinners with starter courses and entrees range from $12.00 to $30.00 per person. When ordering from the menu, the prices are as listed. We also have a more formal catering menu available.
Cocktails and Hors D’ Oeuvres
KitchenK also hosts many party type events from informal cocktail hours to larger, more elaborate eating and drinking events. Again, we try very hard to provide an event tailored to your specific vision. In addition to our regular menus there is an appetizer/party menu available on this site that gives a decent overview of menu options. In general, pricing is done on a per person basis and varies according to the hors d’ oeuvres selected and the variety and number selected. Your final tab is based both upon amount and variety. Costs usually range from $2.50 to $3.50 per appetizer per person. If you had one hundred people and wanted them to have a selection of four different items and approximately eight pieces in total you would be looking at a bill of $10.00 to $14.00 per person. Once a specific menu is agreed upon, of course, we provide you with an exact price quote.
Beer, wine, and spirits are sold on an ala carte basis, that is we do not provide bar service at a fixed hourly or per person rate. In our experience there is far too much variance between groups in how much is consumed for us to price fairly on this basis. That being said, we can work with you to control the patronage of the bar. For both legal and cost reasons we understand that the client often needs a measure of control over how much alcohol is used. Some groups contract for a given dollar value of drinks to be provided and limit the choices and/or brands available. Other guests are provided with drink tickets that they distribute as they feel is appropriate. Some clients provide food and offer a cash bar to their guests. In short, we will work with you as much as possible within the above stated parameters.
Spaces Available
KitchenK has a number of distinct spaces available for your group depending upon your needs and the size of your party.
- We have a mezzanine that seats up to twenty to twenty-five people and overlooks our main dining room. It is the most private of the spaces available and works well for smaller dinner parties, showers, or working meals. There is a $50.00 charge for this space which provides for specialized attention and service for your group.
- There is also a space set aside from the main dining room beneath the above mentioned mezzanine. It accommodates up to forty people for lunch or dinner. There is no additional charge for this space.
- Our bar holds up to 100 people for cocktail parties, happy hours, etc.. It works well for less formal, celebratory events as well as social gatherings.
- Finally, our main dining room is quite large and can accommodate parties up to two hundred people in size. For very large gatherings more notice may be required.
Misc. Information
Hopefully this provides most of the pertinent information. When planning any event please keep in mind that an 18% gratuity is added for all large parties.
